A horoscope, or astrological chart, is a representation of the heavens at the time of one's birth. The positions of the planets will differ significantly depending on the time of birth. The zodiac, which is a circular strip of sky straddling the apparent path of the sun, is divided into twelve equal sectors each represented by an astrological sign. The sun spends approximately one month in each sector and the position of the sun at time of birth determines the sun sign in the horoscope. A person's character is largely determined by this sun sign, and it is possible to draw significant conclusions based solely on the sign of the zodiac under which a person is born.
